It is with great pleasure that I learn you are handling the marketing and leasing operations for Hyatt Plaza. I know you will do a great job, just like you did when you were my tenant at The Mall. Now, in a way, I am your tenant. Although I do not own Orient Express anymore, I am always keen to support Menchie and the new owner and have been acting as a board member of their group.
I understand that it is now time for Orient Express to renew their lease and that the Hyatt Plaza mamangment has requested the food court tenants to in a sence indicate to what strategic important their business is to Hyatt Plaza and vice versa.
Below I have listed bullet points which I feel best describe those strategic elements that show not only what Orient Express is, but why Orient Express is uniquely an ideal food court tenant.
To summarize I would say that Orient Express is THE best chinese/filipino fast food restaurant not only in Qatar but also the GCC. I've been living in Dubai for the past four years and have yet found a similar resturant. In all of the malls here there is NO real restaurant that caters to filipinos, and we have over 300,000 of them here in Dubai.
I know that Orient Express will continue to be a good client and will serve the best interests of Hyatt Plaza. On this basis I humbly ask that you kindly give them your best terms and conditions for the next five years.
If need be I am ready to come to Qatar to discuss with you personally and ensure you that it would be in your best interests and would put your mall at an advantage to make Orient Express you key ally in the food court.
Strategic Reasons
Orient Express - Is the oldest Chinese/Filipino restaurant in all of Qatar. We have been present in shopping malls in Qatar since 1995 and were the first Chinese restaurant to open in a The Mall and the second Chinese restaurant to open in Hyatt Plaza. We have been responsible for catering for the American International School, Al Jazeera Acadamy and are now catering for 300 staff at Al Fardan BMW garage. Our Al Saad branch caters to most of the filipino private celebrations in Qatar.
Orient Express Future Plans - We will be developing our catering business and in addition to winning the above mentioned Al Fardan contract have approached several other large companies to provide on site employee dining experiences. We are also in the process of opening up the very first filipino bakery.
Pioneer with Hyatt Plaza - The founder and current board member of Orient Express Christopher Richardson was the designer of the The Mall Shopping Complex and was responsible for the Hyatt Plaza interior layout and as a consultant to the Al Muhaidib group was instrumental in helping to draw the top retailers and worked with the early Hyatt management to establish Hyatt Plaza as the leading mall in Qatar. Because of this Orient Express is a dedicated and loyal tenent of Hyatt Plaza being a member of the original and first signing tenants.
Dedicated Promoter of Hyatt Plaza - We have a large and growing following with our restaurant and catering business in Qatar which serves also as an advertising platform for Hyatt Plaza. Almost all of our customers regularly visit our restaurants and Hyatt Plaza benefits from their decision to go to our restaurant for their dining experience. With our catering operations which account for more than 50% of our business we actively promote the Hyatt Plaza destination as we know that our customers will enjoy the other facilities that Hyatt Plaza has to offer.
Good Tenant of Hyatt Plaza - We have been a good and loyal tenant from the very beginning. We have participated in so many events and have helped Jungle Zone as well as the mall management as much as it was our capacity to do.
A Unique Concept - Orient Express created a unique design making the restaurant one of the most attractive fast food restaurants in Qatar. The dragon head combine with the flames from high pressure wok cooking makes for a great show making the concept a very unique and pleasing memeber of Hyatt Plaza's food court family.
Solid Client Base - We have a very solid following whereby many of our customers come from far away places in Doha just to dine with us. We have so many customers who are dedicated and loyal patrons of Orient Express since we first opened in 1995. They have a tendency to go where we go. Our Mall customers were the first to visit Hyatt Plaza because they knew we were opening there and wanted to have our dining experience in a new atmosphere - Hyatt Plaza.
Destination - Our restaurant is a destination, many people from all walks of life in Qatar come specifically to Oreient Express to enjoy their favorite dishes. We provide many oriental dishes that no other restaurant especially fast food in Qatar provides. We have dimsum, puto, (list of unique dishes)
Attractive Design - Our restaurant facade is attractive. With its colorful red and golden yellow dragon theme, we stand out and present to passers by a pleasing image.
Provides Low Cost Hyatt Plaza Employee Dining - We have always provided low cost employee meals and are the number one restaurant providing high quality meals for Hyatt Plaza retail employees. The other Hyatt Plaza retail tenants are indirectly benefiting from our services.
Wide Menu - Unlike most fast food concepts, we have a wide and dynamic menu range and unlike corporate chains are able to introduce and adjust our offering to meet changing customer demands.
Draws Filipino Community - We are the number one restaurant for filipinos in Qatar. We provide most of the catering for the filipino community including embassy and filipino school functions.
